Our story

Will and Karrie met in high school, lost touch, and found each other again in 1994 — and that was it. Engaged within a year, married in 1996, and from there we built a life: three daughters, a home in Colorado, and over two decades of work between us. Will spent his career in construction, eventually managing projects. Karrie became a registered nurse, a job she still loves and now does remotely from the road.

Karrie grew up in Arizona and had never set foot in Colorado until she came to visit Will's family — and never wanted to leave the mountains after that. We moved here together and spent the next chapter of our lives raising our girls and putting down roots.

Why we left

When our youngest moved out, the house felt different — quieter, but also like it was waiting for something. We started asking the question a lot of empty nesters ask: now what?

For us, the answer wasn't downsizing into the same life with fewer people in it. It was selling almost everything we owned, building out a truck for the road, and going to find out what the rest of the world looks like. Karrie's ability to work remotely as a nurse made it possible — we get to travel and she still gets to do work she's proud of.

We're not running from anything. We spent 30 years building, healing, and showing up for other people. This is us finally showing up for ourselves — and we hope watching us do it nudges you a little closer to whatever your own version of this is.
